Generating more value per gallon
At Global Clean Energy, our vertically integrated farm-to-fuel pathway yields renewable diesel with a lifecycle carbon intensity that is a small fraction of the ratings of other biofuels like soy, canola, or waste greases and fats like used cooking oil. Our camelina-based product’s extremely low carbon intensity will allow customers to meet their carbon emission reduction targets using just a fraction of the biofuel otherwise required.
Greater efficiency at every step
Our vertically integrated farm-to-fuel strategy allows us to capture efficiencies along our entire production chain, from laboratory to finished fuel.
Our partnerships help us scale
Strategic agreements along the entire supply chain allow us to rapidly scale our business. We have partnerships in plant genomics and breeding, agronomy, grain elevation and logistics, and the sale of our finished fuels.
Upstream partnerships: teaming up with plant scientists and farmers
From the beginning, we have partnered with leading public academic institutions, private researchers, farmers, and farmer-owned cooperatives. Our upstream partners help us develop our proprietary feedstock and source enough grain to supply our refinery.
Midstream partnerships: leveraging local and regional logistics
Our facilities are strategically located on BNSF Railway Company's freight railroad network, providing the cleanest freight transportation available today. Our transportation partners help ensure the ultra-low carbon intensity of our product does not disappear in transit.
Downstream partnerships: marketing and distribution with multinational reach
In 2021, we entered into a five-year agreement with ExxonMobil to exclusively buy 210 million gallons a year of renewable diesel from our Bakersfield Biorefinery. ExxonMobil plans to distribute the renewable diesel within California and potentially other U.S. and international markets.
